Privacy Policy

Last updated 9 August 2026 · Alpha release

Ronoplex is operated by J001_jf1 ("we", "us"), based in Costa Rica. This policy explains what we collect when you play at ronoplex.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Ronoplex is currently in alpha, so the game and this policy may change; material changes will be noted by the date above.

What we collect

We only collect what the game needs to run:

  • Account data. If you register with email and password, we store your email address and a hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
  • Google sign-in data. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and account identifier from Google. We do not receive your Google password, contacts, or any other Google data.
  • Your chosen names. Your player name and civilization name. These are visible to other players in the shared world, so do not use your real name if you would rather stay anonymous.
  • Gameplay records. Your civilization, buildings, units, resources, research, skills, explored map area and the commands you issue. This is the game save; it lives on our servers because the world is shared and keeps simulating while you are offline.
  • Presence data. When you were last active, so the world knows which regions to simulate and which players to show as online.
  • Guest sessions. Guest play creates an anonymous identifier with no email attached. It exists only for that browser session.
  • Technical logs. Standard server logs and error reports, which may include IP address, browser type and timestamps, used to keep the service running and to debug crashes.

We do not collect payment information, we do not run advertising, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser storage for one purpose: keeping you signed in and remembering your audio settings and session state. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, and no cross-site analytics profiling. Clearing your browser storage signs you out — and for a guest session, ends that civilization permanently.

Guest civilizations are deleted

A guest civilization is session-only by design. When you sign out or the browser session ends, the anonymous identity and its civilization are permanently deleted from the shared world. This cannot be undone and we cannot recover it for you. If you want to keep your progress, use "Save progress" in-game to convert the guest session into a real account before it ends.

How long we keep things

Account data and gameplay records are kept while your account exists. Because Ronoplex is in alpha, we may need to reset the world or wipe all civilizations between builds — we will announce this in-game where we can, but alpha progress is not guaranteed to persist. Technical logs are kept for a short operational period and then discarded.

Who we share data with

Other players see your player name, civilization name, and the parts of your civilization that are visible in the shared world. Nobody sees your email address.

Behind the scenes we rely on service providers to host the game and its database, and on Google if you choose Google sign-in. They process data only to provide that hosting or sign-in service. We otherwise disclose data only where we are legally required to.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account and its civilization. Email Help@ronoplex.com from the address on the account and we will act on it. Deleting your account removes your civilization from the shared world, and that is irreversible.

Depending on where you live you may also have rights to object to processing, restrict it, or receive a copy of your data in a portable form. Use the same address and say what you want; we do not charge for this.

Children under 13

Ronoplex is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email Help@ronoplex.com and we will delete it.

Security

Passwords are hashed, traffic is encrypted in transit, and every change to the world is validated on our servers rather than trusted from your browser. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you do not reuse elsewhere. If you find a vulnerability, report it to bugs@ronoplex.com rather than disclosing it publicly, and we will work with you on it.
